In 2010, Elumenus partnered with the Department of Energy as an SSL Quality Advocate. This is an important element in combating the plague of false performance claims by other manufacturers of solid state lighting products.

Elumenus has voluntarily joined the Department of Energy in its efforts to verify performance claims due to the poor performance of many products in the most recent CALIPER report. The CALIPER report demonstrated that only 4% of the manufacturer’s products were performing as advertised.

As a Solid State lighting manufacturer, Elumenus has pledged to:

    * Provide clear and consistent labeling of essential performance, measured by industry standard, IESNA LM-79, Approved Method for the Electrical and Photometric Testing of Solid-State Lighting Devices and ANSI C78-377-2008, Specification for the Chromaticity of Solid-State Lighting Products in the following categories:

          o Lumen output

          o Luminaire efficacy

          o Power input

          o Correlated color temperature

          o Color rendering index.

    * Make critical information readily available on product packaging or literature.
