Elumenus Pledges to become a Department of Energy SSL Quality Advocate

Indianapolis — As a part of Elumenus’ launch of its new VISION™ line of commercial solid state lighting products, today it has joined the Department of Energy’s SSL quality advocates program.  Elumenus, a world-class manufacturer of over 150 LED lighting products, has pledged its support in adherence to strict product performance claims in product marketing.   “We fully support the Department of Energy with its program to provide customers with products that perform as claimed. The future of this industry depends upon providing customers with accurate information,“ said Ken Rainbolt, Elumenus CEO. 

The Department of Energy identified problems within LED manufacturing claims with its CALIPER test reporting which has led to the development of this important program.
As a lighting manufacturer, Elumenus has pledged to:

• Provide clear and consistent labeling of essential performance, measured by industry standard, IESNA LM-79, Approved Method for the Electrical and Photometric Testing of Solid-State Lighting Devices and ANSI C78-377-2008, Specification for the Chromaticity of Solid-State Lighting Products in the following categories:
• Lumen output
• Luminary efficacy
• Power input
• Correlated color temperature
• Color rendering index.
• Make critical information readily available on product packaging or literature.
